As founder of Move to Empower, Toni-Michelle Rubio oversees the vision and direction of her brain child. She directly manages all overseas programming, works with community groups and leaders in the most marginalized areas of the world, and identifies candidates for fitness licensing and training. All M2E Ambassadors and Community Representatives rely on her hands-on guidance and mentorship.
Toni also serves as Group Fitness Manager to one of New York's leading health clubs, Club Fit, where she oversees all group fitness and aqua classes and instructors for the facility.
Over the past 20 years, Toni has combined her magnetic charisma and keen business sense to enthusiastically lead and successfully manage several not-for-profit organizations. Most notably, she has championed programming for minority communities via her work with self-created The Living Museum Company, an arts in education program designed to bring African American history to life for elementary school cultural presentations. Previously, she worked for the White Plains Youth Bureau and the Westchester Arts Council where she brought drama therapy and playmaking to residential rehabilitation high schools and staff.
In addition, Toni has been recognized as Best Zumba® Instructor by Westchester Magazine and as Humanitarian of the Year by Zumba® Home Office.
Toni graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts and Communications and is a graduate of the highly selective actors’ program Circle in the Square Theater School. Her Zumba® fitness qualifications include Zumba ® Basic, Basic 2, Zumba® Gold, AquaZumba®, and Strong® by Zumba® . In addition, she is AFAA certified in Group Fitness instruction, has completed trauma training programs and is AEA certified in Aquatics Exercise.
